6 Tips for Beautiful Skin with Yogurt

Moisturizing Yogurt Facial

Yogurt contains lactic acid that exfoliates and removes dead cells while hydrating the skin. Apply natural yogurt to your face for 20 minutes before rinsing with water. Your skin will feel wonderfully smooth and supple. If your skin is extra dry add a spoonful of honey to the yogurt, or try adding grated carrot for a wonderful rejuvenating facial mask.

Exfoliating Yogurt Scrub

Combine 1 cup of yogurt with ½ cup of oats to form a thick paste. Vigorously rub this paste over your skin to gently exfoliate your face. The yogurt will rehydrate your skin as you exfoliate leaving you with a healthy, glowing complexion. For a luxurious citrus scrub, dry some orange, lemon or lime peels, use a blender to blend them into coarse beads, and use these instead of the oats. You skin will feel alive and fresh.

Natural Acne Treatment

The living enzymes in yogurt are powerful at combating the bacteria that cause acne. Yogurt also contains zinc that helps prevent future acne flare-ups. Dab a spot of yogurt on pimples and problem areas and leave for 30 minutes. Used daily yogurt will help clear up acne and problem skin.

Discoloration and Blemish Removal

Yogurt is a very mild natural bleaching agent. To reduce the appearance of age spots and discoloration, add a squeeze of lemon juice to yogurt and apply. Leave for 30 minutes then wash with water. To remove dark circles around the eyes smear a thin film of the yogurt-lemon mix to the affected areas for 15 minutes before bedtime, the rinse just before going to bed.

Anti-Ageing Yogurt Mask

Yogurt is excellent at keeping skin younger and healthier looking. Add 1 tablespoonful of olive oil to 4 tablespoons of yogurt and apply as a facial mask for 30 minutes, 3 times a week. The lactic acid in the yogurt will remove dead cells and tighten skin pores and the olive oil will nourish your skin for a healthy glow.

Soothing Sunburn Relief

The zinc in yogurt is a balm to burnt skin. Add in a couple of drops of soothing chamomile essential oil to yogurt and gently apply to sunburned areas for 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. You’ll feel so much better.
